ABOUT SMART WASTE
MESSAGE BACKED BY ACTION ACROSS THE BUILDING INDUSTRY
Master Builders WA has set up the Smart Waste initiative to help builders and house buyers to reduce the amount of building waste that goes into landfill. Keen to reduce waste and to reduce the levy they pay on landfill leading builders are now:
- Reducing waste through clever design and ordering
- Reusing spare materials
- Sorting waste on site to improve recycling rates
- Engaging specialist waste service providers to sort and recover waste materials
More and more customers (home buyers) are asking builders to reduce, reuse and recycle because they get lower costs and contribute to reducing landfill and helping the environment.
