Master Builders CEO Denita Wawn on the Board of Cbus Super
Master Builders CEO, Denita Wawn, has been appointed to the Board of Cbus Super as a Master Builders nominee Director. Master Builders Australia is a 50% shareholder of Cbus Super with seven nominee Directors on the Board. Cbus is expected to grow to more than $60 billion within the next five years and there are currently more than 125,000 contributing employers and over 750,000 employee members in the Fund.

Standards Australia
Master Builders had some wins with Standards Australia last week that have prevented new Standards for pool fencing being introduced to the National Construction Code. Non-conforming product labelling for prefabricated fencing was also agreed to.

The recently released “Shifting the Dial: 5-Year Productivity Review” offers an opportunity for industry to be more engaged in training and workforce development issues to ensure training and workforce development delivers the skills employers want. Silica Dust Fact Sheet
The Cancer Council has released a fact sheet on the occupational hazards of silica dust and the control measures which can be taken. Silica dust can be created from bricks, tiles, concrete and some plastic material.

The WA Solid Plastering Association (WASPA) has demonstrated and trialled a new plastering product for internal wall and ceiling surfaces.
