GST Reform
Master Builders commends Treasurer Scott Morrison for tackling the inequitable distribution of GST to WA following a Productivity Commission review. Although details and time frames have yet to be finalised, we are encouraged that more GST funds will flow to WA to boost our infrastructure projects.

Men’s Health and Wellbeing Survey
Health Networks of the Department of Health WA invites you to provide feedback on the draft WA Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy. The purpose of this Policy is to provide direction to the WA health system and its partners to deliver strategies that improve the physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing of men and boys living in WA. It outlines WA’s response to the National Male Health Policy. Members are encouraged to complete the brief online survey here by 3 August.

Non-Conforming Panels
A Discussion Paper has been released on options for a permanent labelling system for aluminium composite panels with a polyethylene core. The options being considered include information plates permanently attached to buildings; permanently etched or stamped motif on external façade; use of cover data marking technology; maturation of current reviews and reforms. Master Builders is preparing a submission in response by 13 July.

Single Touch Payroll
If you are an employer with 20 or more employees, you are required to report your employees’ payroll information to the ATO via “Single Touch Payroll”. Click here for details. Employers with 19 or less employees will need to report through Single Touch Payroll from 1 July 2019.
