  1. It's Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

    Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men, with 20,000 diagnosed each year. Five-year survival rates have increased to 95 per cent but there are 3,500 deaths each year. Early detection is vital. All men over 50 should talk to their GP about prostate health.   2. Innovation, technology and sustainability conference

    While on annual leave, Director Michael McLean will be attending a conference in Singapore on 26-28 September on educating building professionals for the future. The conference is being organised by the Australasian Universities Building Education Association, with Associate Professor Monty Sutrisna from Curtin University the Chair. Click here for details.

  3. New wellness app

    Holyoake, a member of Master Builders' Health Alliance, has launched a free My Wellbeing Mate App which has already won a Business New Innovation award. Click here to learn more about the app, which gives access to relevant health information.

  4. Setting standards

    Master Builders Director Michael McLean is one of eight people who have nominated for three positions on the Standards Australia Board. A ballot to decide the composition of the group will be held within the next month.

  5. Home warranty insurance changes

    New guidelines for Home Warranty Insurance certificates take effect from 1 November. To get an HWI for Job Specific Policy a new application form is required plus a signed copy of the contract and, unfortunately, the online issuing system will no longer be available.
