  1. Directors Meet with National Fire Industry Association

    John Gelavis and Michael McLean met with Wayne Smith, CEO of the National Fire Industry Association (NFIA) this week. The NFIA represent fire protection contractors, suppliers and stakeholders. Major issues facing their industry and members were discussed.

  4. Singapore Contractors Association

    Whilst in Singapore last week, Michael McLean met with his counterpart at the Singapore Contractors Association (SCA), Mr Lam Kong Hong. Major issues being dealt with by the SCA include on-site safety (falls from height in particular), security of payment as a result of lowest tenders, the future impact of disruptive technology and modular building. Master Builders will now exchange our quarterly magazine with SCA.

  5. Master Builder Magazine

    The Spring edition of Master Builder magazine has been published and is currently being distributed to members. Housing Minister Peter Tinley and the winning projects from this year’s Construction Awards are featured. To view the online version click here.

  6. Home Warranty Insurance Changes

    New guidelines for Home Warranty Insurance certificates take effect from 1 November. To get an HWI for Job Specific Policy a new application form is required plus a signed copy of the contract and, unfortunately, the online issuing system will no longer be available. MBA Insurance Services have new forms and information available here and can help on 9486 9898.

  7. Lendlease wins Global Award

    Congratulations to Lendlease in winning the multi-national employer category at this year’s Global Healthy Workplace Awards in Italy. These awards acknowledge the healthiest workplaces – Lendlease being a long-term proponent of sustainability and mental health programs.

  8. National Construction Code

    The National Construction Code (NCC) has now shifted to a three-year amendment cycle, but the work to ensure Australian Standards are supporting the NCC is an ongoing process. As a part of this, several new and amended standards have been developed which are intended for referencing in the next edition of the NCC that will be adopted in May 2019. Click here for details.
