NEW AWARDS STRUCTURE FOR 2025 AND BEYOND
The new programme, called the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards, will bring back the prestige of being named a Master Builders award winner in Western Australia.
This updated structure ensures that regional projects can now compete directly against Perth-based projects. Winners will go on to represent WA at the National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards.
The new Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards structure is detailed below.
THE PROCESS
Step 1
All projects across the state will enter the relevant category (and price sub-category if applicable) in the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards, no matter if the entry is based regionally or in the Perth metropolitan area.
At the 2025 Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards, there will be 58 awards up for grabs for projects in the residential, commercial and civil construction sectors.
Step 2
Projects are assessed by our team of independent judges.
Step 3
Entrants are notified if they have been selected as a finalist in the Awards.
Step 4
The state-level Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards are held, where the finalists of each category will be celebrated, and category winners announced.
Step 5
Following the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards, Regional Awards Dinners will be held to recognise Award winners in their local regions.
There will be five major awards announced in each region:
1. Young Builder of the Year – [Region]
2. Residential Master Builder of the Year – [Region]
3. Commercial Master Builder of the Year – [Region]
4. Customer Service Award – [Region]
5. Apprentice of the Year – [Region]
To be eligible for the major regional awards, a member must:
1. be from that region, and
2. enter at least one (1) project into the 2025 Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards.
For example, if a residential builder in Albany enters a project that is announced as a finalist or winner in the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards, they automatically become a finalist for Residential Master Builder of the Year – Great Southern, the winner of which will be announced at the Great Southern Awards Dinner.
Please note: There is no separate entry process for the regional awards, and members who have purchased a ticket to attend the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards will receive a complementary ticket to their relevant Regional Awards Dinner.
Step 6
Winners of an eligible award at the Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards will go on to represent WA at the National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards in November, run by Master Builders Australia.
