In the 30 years to March 2017 ABS has recorded a 6.7% average annual increase in the cost of attached housing in Perth (below Sydney). Over the last 20 years, Perth prices rose by 9.9% (above Sydney levels).

REIWA data indicates Perth has an over-supply of established housing with a 6.5% vacancy rate (compared to a 3.5% per annum rate since 1980). Median rents for a 3-bedroom house in Perth has fallen from $475 in 2013 to $380 now.
