  2. Review of Local Government Act

    For the first time in more than 20 years, the Local Government Act is being reviewed to modernise it and reduce red tape. Members can attend 14 consultation workshops in November and December.   3. Growing Apprenticeships & Traineeships

    The State Training Board has published a Consultation Paper seeking suggestions on how to increase the take-up of apprenticeships and traineeships across WA. Click here for details. Consultations will be held in Kalgoorlie on November 24 and Bunbury on November 27. Member feedback is invited.

  4. Skin Cancer Awareness Week

    November 19 to 25 is National Skin Cancer Awareness Week. 96FM will be highlighting a range of activities during this period. UV Daily is a good source of information for members who should ensure that workers who are exposed to the sun are appropriately protected.

  5. Modular Construction Conference

    Two modular construction and pre-fabrication conferences are being held early next year in Sydney (February 28 to March 1) and Melbourne (March 5 to 7). Click here for details.

  6. Update from Training

    Master Builders was represented on a Roundtable Consultation regarding new programs the Department of Employment is developing for mature age job seekers. These new programs form part of the $110 million Mature Age Employment Package that was announced in the 2017-18 Budget.
